Weight Loss Tip

I was in the library toda and took a look at a nutrition book. I had a good read of the weight loss chapter and most of the information was what I already know such as having a healthy diet, exercising, cutting down portions etc. They did mention that it is a good idea to eat less on a day following a day when you eat a lot. This made a lot of sense but is not something I have thought about before. I heard people say they are skipping breakfast if they are going fr lunch and I always found that odd for several reasons. Firstly I was never brought up to skip meals and also I have low blood sugar so feel unwell if I do not eat regularly. However, I can exercise more and eat sensibly if I know that I am going to be having a high calorie day. It is certainly something that I will now keep in mind.

Hi Rachel.
Skiping breakfast just because you had too much to eat the day before doesn´t make much sense, specially if you have low sugar blood levels.
I have hipoglycemia and I must eat frequently, each 3 hours, prefering fruit, yogurth or bread.
Sugar will "work against" my organism and will not help me balance insulin levels. I need slow digesting types of food like mixture bread and other cereals.
Breakfast is defenetly the most important meal of the day.
Cheers.

I have found that combining protein with carbs is good for my blood sugar. I used to think that eating fat was the answer but I have noticed that I feel more energised when I eat less food but healthy stuff. I never skip snacks unless I cannot help it and avoid sugar especially in cakes, sweets and biscuits as much as I can. I wouldn't dream of skipping breakfast - I would be a real grotty monster if I did that!
